Mary Jo's Story
I just turned 17 yrs upon graduation from SOC. I went one semester to college. Was so lonely I wasn't happy. So I came home and went to Business College. I loved Bookkeeping and Accounting.... Got married Christmas 1962. Went to work at a large jewelry corporate accounting office as a clerk for a few years. Then when my second child was a very young I quit. Stayed at home for a while. Then when the youngest was starting Kinder, I went to work for DISD, as school clerk, doing bookkeeping, then was promoted to School Secretary. Few years, became a school Off. When my husband passed away, I got sick and then a year later I retired.
My two sons are middle aged men now. One is a computer system creator and the youngest one is a Actuary. I have four grown grand children, Luke, Mike, Matt, and Aimee. They do Store retail, Accounting, Paramedic and then she is in financial. I have two young greats.
I and have stayed very active my faith and church attendance.. I wrote a book. got it published.
I have been blessed not in wealth but in the things that matter. I am thankful for my years at SOC....
